The Film: A young dancer from San Ildefonso Pueblo shares her journey of self-reflection and gathering ancestral strength to discover her voice and confidence as an artist.
The Background: Sèng Wah is the first in a series of short films for a program, centering native youth, called Azhish! Stories in Motion. The overall program includes workshops, mentorship, and produced short films that highlight up-and-coming talents such the performer featured in this evening’s piece; Than Povi Martinez.
By attending this evening’s event you are supporting the continuation of the program, which has already benefited cohorts of native youth thanks to support from First People’s Fund and our partner Santa Fe Indian School. Thank you so much for joining us and making this program possible!
