The Film: A young dancer from San Ildefonso Pueblo shares her journey of self-reflection and gathering ancestral strength to discover her voice and confidence as an artist.
The Background: Sèng Wah is the first in a series of short films for a program, centering native youth, called Azhish! Stories in Motion. The overall program includes workshops, mentorship, and produced short films that highlight up-and-coming talents such the performer featured in this evening’s piece; Than Povi Martinez.

Thanks to Santa Fe Indian School we were able to host a series of performing arts workshops for native youth. The workshop series is an integral part of the Azhish! Stories in Motion program.
A part Tse’Nato’s mission is make these projects a centerpiece for community healing and support. We are proud to share space with Fronteristxs Collective. They are a local (to Albuquerque) organization that leverages art and creativity as a driving force for carceral abolition and political action.
